Davies William de Lima Monteiro


B.Sc. in Physics, Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (1994), MSc in Physics, Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (1997) and PhD in Microelectronics/ Adaptive Optics from Delft University of Technology (2002).

He is Full Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), and permanent member of the Graduate Program on Electrical Engineering (PPGEE) at UFMG.

He coordinates the Laboratory for Optronics and Microtechnology Applications (OptMA_lab), working chiefly on the following subjects: LiFi, adaptive and applied optics; silicon sensors, processes and integrated circuits; MEMS/microtechnology; and photovoltaic cells. Director for the Brazilian Microelectronics Society (2016-2018). Member of the Advisory Committee to Microelectronics at CNPq (2016-2018). General Chairman to the international event IEEE Chip on the Mountains 2016. Reserve member to the executive council of the Brazilian Photonics Society (2018-2020).
